Review – Barmy Badger Backpackers

As a female solo traveller, sometimes it’s hard to find a hostel that you can feel comfortable and safe in. Barmy Badger Backpackers did just that for me. I stayed for 3 nights altogether, for a total price of £75.00 in a 4 bed female only dormitory.

It’s only a short walk from Earls court tube station and also only a 5 minute walk from the Earls Court Exhibition centre, for anybody visiting the area to see a show. There is a Sainsbury’s at the end of the road (a 15 second walk), so it’s also easy to get all your food, drink and essentials.

There are a few bars and pubs that are dotted around the area as well. If you fancy eating out, there is an O’Neill’s Irish bar a few minutes walk away, which does a cheap two course meal for £8.99 everyday from 5pm onwards. If you are also looking for something a bit different, there is a ping pong bar and restaurant just down the road, check it out!

The hostel itself is kept very clean and tidy, with the kitchen being closed for an hour each day to be cleaned. The rooms are cosy and warm, though maybe sometimes a little too warm! Free breakfast is served every morning as well in the kitchen, with a selection of fruit, toast and cereal.

Here is a video I took of the 4 bedroom female only dorm that I stayed in.

The room has a private bathroom, 4 lockers, safes and plenty of space to hang clothes or to fold them away under your bunk beds. There is also a full length mirror, which can be a godsend to any women! Please note though, if you want to use the lockers, you will have to bring your own lock.

I highly recommend this hostel for anyone staying in the London area, It’s close to all of the popular attractions with the tube station only a 3 minute walk away. I also walked from the hostel down towards the Chelsea embankment, along the Thames river towards Big Ben and the Big Eye in just over an hour.

With friendly staff, cosy rooms and brilliant location, make this your next hostel stop if your planning on staying in London! SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESThis was also the view from outside the hostel towards the end of the road…
